Two teams looking for NFL relevancy will battle on Sunday, as the Washington Redskins head to Minnesota to play the Vikings. Both teams are 3-5 and are looking to build momentum after big wins the previous week. Here are five matchups that will determine who ultimately emerges victorious.

5. DeSean Jackson vs. Minnesota's Secondary

Jackson torched the Vikings as a member of Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, securing a career-high 10 catches and 195 yards. But this year's Minnesota defense is vastly improved from last season. The Vikings have the NFL's fourth best pass defense, limiting opponents to only 212 yards per game. That being said, there's rarely a moment when Jackson isn't the fastest player on the field , and he could break loose at any time. Something's gotta give.

4. Jerick McKinnon vs. Washington's Front Seven

The rookie running back has been a pleasant surprise for Minnesota, averaging 5.2 yards per carry this season. The Washington defense is stout against the run, but the Vikings will likely lean on McKinnon to take the pressure off Teddy Bridgewater. McKinnon could find the end zone this Sunday in what would be his first career touchdown.

3. Everson Griffen vs. Washington's Offensive Line

Griffen has been named the Defensive Player of the Month in the NFL for the month of October. The defensive end will look to add to his sack total against a Washington offensive line that certainly has its holes, other than Trent Williams. Griffen currently has eight sacks on the season, including a three-sack game against Buffalo this year.

2. Teddy Bridgewater vs. Washington's Blitz Package

The Redskins rattled Tony Romo last Monday night, sacking him five times and confusing him all game long. Jim Haslett dialed up the blitz against the Cowboys, and it worked to perfection. Look for Washington to keep up the pressure on the rookie Bridgewater, who will need to be sharp and avoid turnovers. Bridgewater has thrown five interceptions in as many starts this season.

1. Robert Griffin III vs. Minnesota's Defense

The big story in this game is the return of Robert Griffin III from a dislocated ankle injury. His presence alone should help the Redskins' offense, but how effective will he actually be? He might be rusty since he hasn't played in a while, and Mike Zimmer's defense will certainly challenge the Washington quarterback. The Redskins go as Griffin does, and his performance will ultimately decide who earns the victory.
