Predicting the Final Score of Cardinals vs. Cowboys

Tony Romo Cowboys

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys got a reality check last week after Tony Romo appeared to injure his back again, but he could still play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. That uncertainty makes predicting the final score of this game tough as a result. This article will not shy away from any hard task though. Obviously, whether Romo will play or not should affect the game’s outcome, and head coach Jason Garrett still is not clear about his QB’s status.

“We’re going to see what he’s able to do today in practice,” Garrett said on Friday. “Getting his rehab, getting his treatment and really taking it day by day, so we’ll see what he’s able to accomplish.”

The Cardinals (6-1) inexplicably have the conference’s best record, and Bruce Arians seems to be pushing all the right buttons this season. The Cowboys’ winning streak may have ended on Monday, but their 6-2 record has them leading the NFC East. They should bounce back after a tough loss on national television and lean on MVP candidate DeMarco Murray; he will get a massive amount of carries in an attempt to protect Romo’s back. Larry Fitzgerald should grab a few highlight catches on the other side, however, Carson Palmer will come crashing down to Earth after a solid start to this year.

It will not be that high scoring of a game due to Romo’s health. Focusing on the running game will be the Cowboys’ best bet, and they will control the ball and continue their reign atop the NFC East in victory over a former division rival.

Final Score Prediction: Cowboys 17, Cardinals 13
