Justin Forsett Will Be X-Factor For Baltimore Ravens In Week 10
After dropping their last two games to divisional opponents on the road, the Baltimore Ravens will return home to take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 10. If the Ravens are going to bounce back, they’ll need to establish the run early, and the ground game needs to go through Justin Forsett.
The Titans’ 134.8 rushing yards allowed per game rank 27th in the NFL, and their 4.2 yards per carry allowed ranks in the bottom half of the league. Teams rush an average of 32 times against the Tennessee, five more than Baltimore’s offensive average. The Ravens don’t need to display a flashy air attack to win this game. Forsett averages a league-best 5.4 yards per carry, and he should be able to wear down a weak Tennessee defense for the entirety of the game.
The offensive line could also use a big day on the ground to rebound from a terrible performance against a suddenly resurgent James Harrison and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. The line has been tremendous all year, and a dominant performance in the trenches could go a long way in regaining their confidence.
Success in the running game would also open up opportunities through the air. The Ravens would greatly benefit from getting everyone involved in the passing game as Joe Flacco and the receivers have been rather inconsistent lately. Getting back to a simple game plan and playing the Ravens’ traditional brand of smash-mouth football will do wonders for this team’s confidence moving forward.
If the Ravens establish the run early and put the Titans’ defense on their heels, this could be the easy home win Baltimore needs. It’ll allow them to regroup during their Week 11 bye as they prepare to make a playoff run during the home stretch late in the season.
