NFL Carolina Panthers

Kelvin Benjamin Will Be X-Factor For Carolina Panthers In Week 10

Through the first nine weeks of the 2014 NFL season, the Carolina Panthers sit at 3-5-1.  While that may be good enough for second place in the NFC South, the Panthers have been struggling this season, especially on offense.

The Panthers’ offense has only been able to muster 12 touchdowns through the air this season, and starting quarterback Cam Newton only has 10 total touchdowns. The Panthers’ offense is currently ranked 16th in the NFL, but they will have to play much better if they hope to earn a win on Monday night as they go on the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles’ offense is currently without quarterback Nick Foles, but Foles wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire and the offense may actually play better without him. On the flip side, the Eagles’ defense has lost middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans, who has been the heart and soul of the unit this season.

The front seven is currently vulnerable without Ryans and the secondary has been torched all year. Despite the Panthers’ passing woes, they will have to pass the ball in order to win this game, and their go-to target should be Kelvin Benjamin.

The rookie wide receiver currently leads the Panthers in receiving yards with 589 and is tied for first on the team with five touchdown receptions. Benjamin will be a huge mismatch for the Eagles’ defensive backs and must have a big game if the Panthers hope to end their current three-game losing streak.
