Line: Pittsburgh (-6.5)
Things are not looking good for the New York Jets. The team has now lost eight in a row and will need a miracle to not drop that streak to nine. The Jets’ Week 10 opponent will be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
You could say Pittsburgh has been on its A game lately. The Steelers have scored a combined 94 points in their last two games. They have also won three in a row. In the process, QB Ben Roethlisberger has gotten a bunch of attention. In the last two games, he has thrown an amazing 12 touchdown passes. He has easily been the best QB in the league during that span and Pittsburgh has been the best team in the NFL as well.
There is no way Roethlisberger can keep this up, but he should like his odds of having a solid game against New York.
The Jets have now given up 252 points on the year, and probably cannot wait until the offseason, or a victory. Who knows when that victory will come. The one bright spot about this week is the fact that the Jets will get to play in front of their fans. However, with the way Pittsburgh has been playing, this one could be over before the second half even starts.
I expect Pittsburgh’s offense to cool down, but its winning streak should continue.
