Bobby Rainey Will Be X-Factor For Tampa Bay Buccaneers In Week 10

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be facing off against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday at home as they search for their second win of the season. With Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith going back to Josh McCown as his starting quarterback,  running back Bobby Rainey will be the x-factor this week for Tampa.

McCown was terrible as the Bucs’ starter earlier in the season, and I can’t imagine he’s going to play much better this week now that Mike Glennon has been benched. This means they’ll have to move the ball on the ground and keep it out of the hands of Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who will be the key to Atlanta’s success.

Even though Buccaneers rookie running back Charles Sims is expected to make his NFL debut this week, Rainey needs to have a big game and has already proven this season that he can move the chains. He’s been averaging 4.6 yards per carry but has only one touchdown.

The good news is that even though the Falcons have the No. 8 run defense in the NFL, they’ve given up the most rushing touchdowns (13) in the entire league so far this season.

Rainey has only recorded one game this season where he’s rushed for over 100 yards, but last week he had a nice day against the Cleveland Browns while rolling up 87 yards on 19 carries in a close loss. He needs to build off of that performance.
