The New York Jets will be set for their first trip to London in the 2015 season, as they will be facing their rival the Miami Dolphins. The Jets and Dolphins will be the first game of the London series next season, as they will be facing off on Oct. 4, 2015. This will be the second time that the Jets have played overseas, as they played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tokyo in the 2003 preseason.

For Jets fans, the game will be considered a Dolphins home game, so the Jets’ fans will still have eight games to go to MetLife stadium next season.

This season the Dolphins dismantled the Oakland Raiders in Europe, and they also made the trip in the 2007 season against the New York Giants.

Since 2007 the NFL has been trying to expand their brand into Europe, and they will continue to pursue a team in England, even though many people are very against a pro team being moved overseas.

“We believe we have a great 2015 schedule that will continue to attract new fans to our sport and strengthen the bonds with our existing fans,” NFL executive vice president of international Mark Waller said in a statement. “To provide U.K. fans the opportunity to see games on consecutive weekends, to see new teams, and to attend a division game, which feature some of the most passionate rivalries in our sport, are signs of the growth and depth of our U.K. fan base.”

Trips to Europe are no easy task for teams, but luckily for the Jets, they are geographically one of the easiest teams to travel to England, but most of the time the games are a total toss up for teams. The fact that the NFL continues to try and push games overseas on fans is silly, and no fan of any team wants to see them have to take the trip to Europe, especially if it’s considered a home game. In a sport where home-field advantage is so important, it is just simply not fair for any team to have one taken away.
