The Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, and their key to success will be RB Bobby Rainey. Doug Martin has not met expectations this year as the starter, and has been a little banged up lately, so it will be up to Rainey to carry the load.
The Falcons have one of the worst defenses in the NFL against the rush. They have given up the most fantasy points in the league to opposing running backs, and about 128 yards per game. Rainey should ideally have a field day on Sunday.
The Falcons’ offense has been clicking on all cylinders recently, and will most likely score a lot of points against a struggling Buccaneers defense. The Bucs’ passing game, on the other hand, is not quite as dependable, so their success in this game will be mostly determined by Rainey’s ability to run the ball.
Rainey had a solid game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9, gaining 87 yards on 19 rushes. He also had a long reception for 34 yards in the game, but failed to get into the end zone. I foresee him scoring at least one touchdown in this game against the Falcons, and will need to be efficient in the red zone if they expect to get this home win.
My prediction is that Rainey does exactly what he needs to do in this game to pull of the upset against the Falcons. I think he will gain well over 100 yards rushing in this contest and score two touchdowns, which will prove to be the best game of his career thus far.
