Strong Passing Attack Is Key To Oakland Raiders’ Week 10 Win

Oakland Raiders Offense

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Sunday night’s matchup between the AFC West rival Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders is expected by many to be a blowout, as the Broncos are a powerhouse offensively and the Raiders are still searching for their first victory.

Much of the blame has fallen on the defense, but it is actually the offense led by rookie Derek Carr that has cost the Raiders this season. Their offense ranks last in the NFL and will need to seriously step it up if they are to compete with the Broncos high powered offense.

From a defensive standpoint, there is almost no way to stop the Broncos offense, as they simply have too many receiving weapons. With an emerging back in Ronnie Hillman, and of course, Peyton Manning, the Broncos are averaging over 30 points per game.

The Raiders running game has been almost non-existent, as running back Darren McFadden has struggled mightily this season. As a team, the Raiders rank last in rushing offense, averaging just over 65 rushing yards per game. Things do not look good for the Raiders at home this week, but that is not to say that there is no hope, if the Raiders are to defeat the Broncos at home this week, then they are going to have to do it in a shootout.

Derek Carr is young, but he is not a bad quarterback. The Raiders offense has simply underperformed.  The future is bright for the rookie, and if Carr can muster up a strong performance, then the Raiders will have a chance at home this Sunday.
