At 8-1, the Arizona Cardinals are off to their best start since 1948 when they were 11-1, and belonged to the city of Chicago. Arizona is easily the biggest surprise of the NFL season, but they have already proven that they are the real deal. These are five takeaways from the Cardinals’ Week 10 victory over the St. Louis Rams.

This guy went from dethroning Larry Fitzgerald as the new No. 1 receiver in Arizona, to suddenly becoming a guy that has been barely noticeable. Part of that is most certainly the emergence of rookie wide receiver John Brown, and part of it is... wait, what else is there? Seriously, Floyd is too good to have become so mediocre.

Did you know Arizona has outscored opponents 91-34 in the fourth quarter? If you didn’t watch the game, guess what the score differential was today against the Rams today -- 21-0 in favor of the Cardinals. No team will ever feel comfortable with a lead against Arizona.

Like Floyd, Fitz has also pulled a 180 on all of us. The difference, of course, is that we have gone from “why isn’t Fitzgerald getting the ball,” to “holy crap, he’s still really good.” I’m not the least bit surprised. This man is a true professional, and one of the most talented receivers I have ever personally witnessed play the game.

Palmer, who is fresh off a three-year contract extension on Friday, went down with yet another injury. The seriousness of the injury is yet to be determined, but I would imagine that Palmer will miss some time. Arizona did just fine without Palmer for a short time once this season, but they may need to do it again at a crucial part of the season.

Stanton surprised a lot of people by performing very well in Palmer’s absence not very long ago. After Palmer went down again today against the Rams, Stanton came in and proceeded to throw a quick touchdown pass. Palmer is the better quarterback, but Arizona will continue to run the same plays with Stanton leading the charge.
