Week 11 Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-8) vs. Washington Redskins (3-6)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Nov. 16, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: FedEx Field
Line: Washington (-7)
This contest doesn’t really have playoff implications written all over it, but at least one of the fanbases will be celebrating a victory on Sunday.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter this one on a five-game losing streak. Their only win on the season came against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road — football is very hard to predict sometimes. The only positive note on the season is how weak the NFC South is. The New Orleans Saints are at the top of the division with four wins. I highly doubt the Buccaneers even reach four wins this year, but still.
The Washington Redskins have been playing better ball lately, but did manage to lose their last game. It was played on the road, so we will give them the benefit of the doubt. Washington finally got a bye last week, and although that bye is likely not going to turn around its season, it should help.
At the very least, it gave the players some extra time off, which is always a plus. Although it probably wouldn’t matter in the grand scheme of things — Tampa Bay is really bad — the Redskins will get this one at home. Although Washington will be lucky to get its record back to .500, it will at least have four wins come Sunday evening, which is more than the one that the Buccaneers have (no need for a calculator, I did the math in my head).
PREDICTION: Buccaneers 14, Redskins 26
