The revolving door at running back continues for the Denver Broncos, who are set to use their third starting back in Week 11 against the St. Louis Rams.

After being held down on the depth chart by Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman, second-year running back C.J. Anderson finally got his moment to shine in Week 10 against the Oakland Raiders. Anderson finished the game with 13 carries for 90 yards; an average of almost seven yards per carry. Even with Hillman and Ball currently listed as day-to-day, Anderson figures to get the majority of the carries in Week 11.

The Broncos will undoubtedly pass the majority of the time, especially with arguably the best quarterback in NFL history as their captain.  The Rams know how good Peyton Manning is, and with Anderson set to start his first game of the season, the Rams will most likely spend the bulk of the this week planning on how to stop the Broncos’ passing attack.

That is where Anderson comes in. With the Rams 13th-ranked pass defense trying to stop Manning, it will be important for Anderson to have a big game and take advantage of their 25th ranked run defense.

Although he has only carried the ball 30 times this season, Anderson is still averaging 5.7 yards per carry; coupled with his ability as a receiver out of the backfield, Anderson is a viable offensive weapon for the Broncos. A balanced attack will be key to defeating the Rams at home. We all know about their passing game, but Anderson is the crucial to the running game and a Broncos victory.
