Cameron Jordan has matured into an elite defensive end since being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. With 26.5 career sacks, Jordan is an excellent pass-rusher, and the star defensive end holds his own in the running game as well. Jordan has a legitimate argument to be considered the Saints’ best defensive player and his play could be the difference between a win or loss for New Orleans in Week 11.

Jordan has five sacks on the season so far, of those five, four have come in wins. The Saints defense is at their best when Jordan is getting consistent pressure, as this allows the secondary more time to adequately cover opposing receivers.

Also in Jordan’s favor is that the Saints play at home this week against a slumping Cincinnati Bengals team. This is a perfect matchup for Jordan to make his mark, and chances are, if he can come away with a sack or two, the Saints will have a much better chance to come away with a victory. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has been sacked nine times in the last four weeks, and Jordan has the talent to exploit a struggling Bengals offensive line.

All in all, Cameron Jordan will be the Saints’ X-factor due to his talent in the running game and his ability to bring down quarterbacks. The Bengals’ passing game isn’t exactly on fire right now, and against an elite pass-rusher like Jordan, there’s a good chance Dalton is in for another long game.

Keep an eye on Cameron Jordan ladies and gentlemen, because he could be in for a huge game this week.
