Week 11 Matchup: Detroit Lions (7-2) vs. Arizona Cardinals (8-1)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Nov. 16, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: U of Phoenix Stadium
Line: Arizona (-1.5)
I hope you like matchups with serious bragging rights on the line because this game will certainly have that.
The Arizona Cardinals enter this contest with the best record in the NFL. Let me repeat that: The Arizona Cardinals enter this contest with the best record in the NFL. They have now won five games in a row. Their only loss came against the Denver Broncos on the road. With that said, QB Carson Palmer is out for the season, which is clearly a big hit. The team has the personnel to rebound from this injury, and make a run in the playoffs.
As for the Detroit Lions, they managed to knock off a hot Miami Dolphins team last game, and enter this one with a 7-2 record. The Lions have won four games in a row, so you could say they enter this contest with quite a bit of momentum.
The bottom line in this game, and for the rest of Arizona’s season, is how it will respond to Palmer’s injury. Assuming it has a good response, it very well could enter Week 12 on a six-game winning streak, which basically speaks for itself. I am going to give the edge to the red-hot Cardinals in this one. They have been playing solid football this season and are at the top of the NFC West, a division that many people predicted the Seattle Seahawks to win. Also, it doesn’t hurt that they will be at home.
PREDICTION: Lions 20, Arizona 23
