Predicting the Final Score of Raiders vs. Chargers

The San Diego Chargers are coming off of their bye week looking to gain some much-needed momentum. They started the season extremely strong, looking like one of the top teams in the NFL, but have since lost three straight games and have looked like a team searching for answers. The Oakland Raiders are doing even worse, yet to win a game all season. They have struggled on both sides of the ball and had to fire their head coach earlier in the year.

The Chargers will have several key players coming back from injury, which should give them a boost. The offense has not looked very good, especially in the running game, but should get back a healthy Ryan Matthews at running back. Defensively, they have been missing a number of starters every game, and will gladly welcome Manti Te’o and Melvin Ingram back to the lineup. They have had a nonexistent pass rush, but Ingram should help to provide a boost.

The Raiders have a rookie in Derek Carr starting at quarterback, but have been unable to provide him much support. The offense is constantly turning the ball over and has failed to establish a running game, even with two veteran running backs. The inability to keep the ball puts a lot of pressure on their defense, which already has enough problems to deal with.

The Chargers need to win this game if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. They have a tough schedule down the stretch, and need to regain the confidence that made them so great at the beginning of the year. With so many good players returning from injury, they should come away with a victory, but don’t be surprised if they try to pour it on in this rivalry game to fire up their players.

Final Score: Chargers 31 Raiders 14
