Rob Gronkowski Went Into Smash Mode Against the Colts

Rob Gronkowski‘s 2014 season got off to a shaky start. After ACL surgery and a slew of injuries over the past couple of seasons, it was to be expected. Except when you’re talking about Gronkowski, the bar is always a little bit higher.

Well, after his performance in Week 11 against the Indianapolis Colts, it’s safe to say that the man they call Gronk is at minimum back to his old self.

After failing to catch what would have been a TD due to a drop via pass interference in the fourth quarter, the Pats’ TE was flagged for unnecessary roughness and taunting on the next play. Frustration/testosterone definitely played a part in the penalties.

Gronk Smash!

But Gronk would channel his frustration on the following drive as he kicked it into high gear on this ridiculous 26-yard TD to put an exclamation on the Patriots’ win over the Colts.

With Rob Gronkowski playing some of the best football of his career, the Patriots are a legitimate Super Bowl threat in the AFC. They’re in the driver’s seat for home-field advantage at 8-2, and now have a little extra breathing room following Denver’s surprising loss to St. Louis.
