Predicting the NFL Division Winners After Week 11

With six weeks left in the NFL season, it’s clear which teams are in the playoff hunt and which teams aren’t. Of course, the teams with legitimate playoff hopes are all chasing after division titles with the hope of earning at least one home playoff game to help them on their journey to the Super Bowl. As teams head down the stretch, here is my predictions of which team will end up winning each NFL division.

This is going to be tight between the Eagles and Cowboys until the end, especially with the two teams playing each other twice down the stretch. In the end, do you really trust Dallas to win with a division title on the line? Moreover, the Eagles have the pieces to survive without Nick Foles, whereas if Tony Romo doesn't stay healthy, there's little chance the Cowboys will be able to win the division.

Technically, the Lions and Packers are tied atop the division, but at the moment, there's not a team in the NFL that can stand in Green Bay's way. They've looked as close to unstoppable as a team can get the past couple of weeks, and while the Lions have looked good too, they've not played at the same level. Detroit still has road trips to Foxboro and Lambeau to make down the stretch, making the Packers the favorite to win the NFC North.

Not that any team deserves to win this division, but someone's going to have to. A couple of weeks ago, the Saints looked like the least-worst team in the division, but that's changed after two straight home losses. The Falcons have now won two in a row, giving them some momentum as well as a 4-0 record within the division. In a tight and futile division race, that could be enough to put them over the top.

NFC West: Arizona Cardinals

This is actually the easiest race to call in the NFC at this point in the season. Sure, the Cardinals are a little vulnerable playing with a backup quarterback, especially when San Francisco and Seattle are capable of getting hot down the stretch; however, all Arizona has done all season is find ways to win, and despite a difficult schedule down the stretch, even a 3-3 record should be enough to give them the division.

AFC East: New England Patriots

The Dolphins are just two games back of the Patriots, and things could get interesting if Miami can get a sweep of New England. Right now, though, the Pats look like the best team in the AFC. Tom Brady and company have found their groove, and as long as they can remain undefeated at home, they should have no trouble continuing their reign atop the AFC East.

AFC North: Cincinnati Bengals

There's very little that separates the four teams in this division, and it's almost impossible to predict a winner at this point. Right now, the difference in the division is Cincinnati's tie, which is actually what's putting them ahead of everyone else at the moment. If things continue to stay tight in this division, that tie can put the Bengals on top, in addition to the fact that they still have the most talented roster in the division.

AFC South: Indianapolis Colts

The Colts hold just a one-game lead over the Texans, but they beat Houston earlier in the season and their schedule down the stretch is quite manageable. Meanwhile, the Texans still have to travel to Indianapolis, and if they don't win that game, there's no way they're going to catch the Colts. The Colts haven't loss to a bad team all season, and they'll certainly take care of business the last six weeks and win the division.

AFC West: Denver Broncos

The Broncos are tied with the Chiefs and are just a game ahead of the Chargers. However, they're still the team to beat despite coming off a disastrous game and facing a tough schedule down the stretch. Denver is undefeated at home, and that will help them down the stretch. After the loss to St. Louis, the Broncos will re-focus, and the smart money is on Peyton Manning rallying the team to win the division.
