5 Bold Predictions For Bengals vs. Texans

The Houston Texans will play host to the AFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at NRG Stadium. The Texans have won five straight in the series with the last two being playoff games. This should be a competitive game between two evenly matched teams with playoff aspirations. Here are my five bold predictions for this matchup.

5. Andy Dalton Will Throw For Over 300 Yards

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has had an up and down season, but he's coming off his best performance of the year against the New Orleans Saints. Dalton will face a Houston defense ranked 31st against the pass, so he should be able to move the ball through the air on Sunday.

While the Houston Texans' defense has given up a lot of yards in 2014, they also lead the NFL with 23 takeaways. The most impressive part is that 16 different players on Houston's defense have intercepted a pass, forced a fumble or recovered a fumble. Expect to see them create a few turnovers in front of a raucous home crowd in NRG Stadium.

3. A.J. Green Will Have Over 120 Receiving Yards

After nearly a month-long injury and a couple poor outings, A.J. Green finally looked like the elite receiver that he is last week. When Dalton and Green are on the same page, the Bengals' offense is pretty dangerous. The Pro Bowl wide receiver should have his way against a secondary that has had trouble stopping opponents' passing attacks.

2. J.J. Watt Will Score Yet Another Touchdown

It's hard to think of a player in the NFL who is more exciting to watch than J.J. Watt. Following his second receiving touchdown of the season during last week's win, Watt now has scored in three different ways and has a total of four touchdowns on the year. The All-Pro defensive end is a man amongst boys and just a fantastic football player. Honestly, what can the guy not do?

1. Texans Will Win 27-20

It's yet to be determined if Arian Foster will play in this game, as the running back is listed as day-to-day with a groin injury. Even if Foster is unable to play, rookie Alfred Blue was impressive last week against the Cleveland Browns as he rushed for 156 yards on 36 carries. In the end, I think Houston's running game and the ability to turn the ball over prove too much for the Bengals to pull off a road victory. The Texans win this matchup.
