The New York Giants have been nothing short of embarrassing these past five weeks.

Last Sunday, the Giants virtually self-destructed after a flawless first quarter drive. Eli Manning threw five interceptions trying to force his team’s dead plays to life. Another loss and sweep by the Dallas Cowboys could be the end of the Giants team that we all know and love. Tom Coughlin has to rally his troops to a win this Sunday if the Giants want to save their season.

The Giants should treat this game like it’s the Super Bowl. They are playing one of their most hated rivals in a game that could eventually lead to a Cowboys playoff birth. Not to mention, New York now owns one of the NFL’s current longest losing streaks this season. It would be a big moral boost for the locker room if the Giants manage to beat a rival and wipe away an abysmal losing streak.

Due to all these problems surrounding the team, Manning and Coughlin’s job security comes into question. A win here will surely quiet down all the media and start to make a case for keeping these two. More than likely, Manning will stay in New York no matter what, but it’s Coughlin who Giants fans are worried about. Coughlin reportedly has a “50-50” chance that he will come back and coach again next year. The Giants’ players always say how they love their coach, so now is a time that they should start to act like it and start playing decent football.

Antrel Rolle said the magic words once again. He brought out the infamous run-the-table line. Now is the only time the Giants can actually run the table and make something of it. They have a very favorable schedule after they play the Cowboys.  If they managed to succeed, they would be 9-7. Unfortunately, the NFC is very competitive and 9-7 might not make the playoffs. However, that record will probably save Coughlin’s coaching job and get Manning a contract extension.
