It’s quite hard to know what to make of the Bengals and the Texans, even after 11 weeks of the 2014 NFL season. There have been weeks where both teams have looked like postseason candidates and other times when you wonder if both teams should cut the majority of their 53-man rosters. Now these two teams will play each other in week 12. These are the five players to watch in that matchup.

Green hasn’t been the unstoppable force much this season, largely due to the role that injuries have played in his season. However, there’s no doubt that he’s capable of a huge performance at any time and the Texans are a team susceptible to that happening.

Bernard has been out of commission for the past few weeks with a hip injury, but it seems like he’ll finally be back on the field this week. His workload could be limited, but having a playmaker of his caliber back on the field will be huge for the Bengals.

This is only week two of the Ryan Mallett Experiment in Houston, but week one worked out well for them. As he plays a hot-and-cold Bengals defense, seeing how the quarterback performs will be a major focal-point in this matchup.

2. Andy Dalton

Speaking of quarterbacks to watch, how can you not watch Dalton? He looked like a solid starter that can win you games last week, but the week before he looked like he couldn’t toss a paper ball into a trash can from a half-step away. Seeing which version of Dalton shows up is certainly intriguing for this game.

Watching J.J. Watt is a pleasure that we are treated to every week that the Texans take the field. He’s unbelievably good and seeing how he changes the game this week is going to be something to watch this week and every week going forward for the rest of his career.
