Turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes (and whatever else people eat during the holidays) and football is what Thanksgiving is all about. Well, people being thankful for those things, that is. And let me tell ya, fans are definitely going to be thankful for all of the great NFL matchups on Thanksgiving Day this year … and all the food.

The must-win Chicago Bears will be going up against the playoff-bound Detroit Lions in this matchup.

Although Chicago hasn’t been blowing teams out of the water, it has managed to win back-to-back games. That’s something to be thankful for after the Bears dropped three straight before their current streak. Hopefully Jay Cutler and the rest of the offense comes ready to play in this one because I am sure the fans would love to see a great show. Plus, Chicago needs some serious help to make the playoffs at this point.

As for the Lions of Detroit, they trail the Green Bay Packers by one game in the NFC North. The two teams will meet up in the last game of the season, which could decide the division. Unfortunately for Detroit, it enters this one on a two-game losing streak. Not to mention, it lost to the New England Patriots by the score of 34-9 in Week 12.

Although both teams could use the win, it is hard to not go against the Lions when they are playing in their own house. Therefore, I am not going to fight it. That doesn’t mean this won’t be a hard-fought battle, though.

PREDICTION: Bears 23, Lions 27
