Despite their dominance last season and their blowout in the Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks have looked very beatable in 2014.

Over the offseason, the Seahawks lost many key players. Golden Tate, Chris Clemons, Red Bryant and Walter Thurmond are just a few names that fled in free agency because of the massive contracts they were getting. However, Seattle thought it had the players to make it work in 2014, but its inexperienced defense has been taken advantage of. Because of that, teams have been able to beat the Seahawks. With just five games left, the Seahawks control their own destiny and it will be up to them to make it back to the postseason.

Although there have been reports of him being on the team next season, Marshawn Lynch is starting to get hot at the right time for Seattle. Around Russell Wilson, there aren’t a lot of go-to skill players. Because of that, the Seahawks have had to rely on the running game more this year. Even in 2013, the Seahawks didn’t have the best offense. It was their defense that helped them win it all last season.

In 2014, the Seahawks have gotten exposed in the secondary. While Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor are still there, all three haven’t played as well as they did in the past. Seahawks fans have seen guys like Dez Bryant, Odell Beckham Jr. and James Jones have productive days against him.

Despite their defensive problems, I believe the Seahawks are getting hot at the right time. After beating the Arizona Cardinals, although they were banged up, the Seahawks are 7-4 and they will have a golden chance on Thursday night to show that they are still the same team from last year. The talent is there, but this team will need to put it all together before they receiver a higher grade.
