For the second straight year, the Detroit Lions defeated a divisional opponent on Thanksgiving. After defeating a Green Bay team that was without Aaron Rodgers last year, the Lions defeated the Chicago Bears 34-17 this year. Here are five takeaways from Detroit's Thanksgiving win.

Outside of two short touchdown receptions by Alshon Jeffery, the Detroit secondary contained an explosive passing attack. The Lions held Chicago to under six yards per pass completion and intercepted Jay Cutler twice.

After getting embarrassed last week by New England, the Detroit front four came to play against the Bears. The defensive line allowed only 13 yards rushing, six to Matt Forte and repeatedly pressured Cutler, sacking him three times.

The 2014 season can be safely called a lost year for Reggie Bush. When Bush was not on the sidelines, he didn't contribute much even when healthy. After missing his fifth game of the season and with the emergence of Theo Riddick, the Lions are better off without Bush than with him.

The Detroit running game still had its issues against the lowly Chicago defense. Outside of a 25-yard run by Joique Bell in garbage time, the Lions didn't do much on the ground. Bell carried the ball 23 yards and gained 91 yards, most of them coming when the game was already decided.

After being contained by Brandon Browner a week ago, Calvin Johnson had no problems against Chicago's woeful secondary. Johnson hauled in 11 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns, both of them coming in the second quarter.
