The Cleveland Browns needed a win against the Buffalo Bills in week 13 to stay relevant in a crowded AFC playoff picture. They weren’t able to procure the victory, though, as they fell 26-10. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t any excitement for Cleveland, though. Here are the five things you should take away from this game for the Browns.

One of the reasons Hoyer had remained the starter is because he was winning games. Beyond that, though, the quarterback had been awful as of late. Over the past four weeks (including week 13) Hoyer threw one touchdown pass and six interceptions. He had to take a seat for Cleveland to progress.

Despite the quarterback play and despite windy conditions, Gordon still managed to have a nice day in his second game back in the lineup. With a new quarterback in (we’ll get there, don’t worry), you have to be excited about how Gordon could potentially finish the season.

The windy conditions and Kyle Orton played a factor, but Haden absolutely shut down Sammy Watkins in this game. The rest of the defense couldn’t get it done consistently, but Haden limited Watkins to just three catches for 11 yards while he was targeted nine times.

Isaiah Crowell and Terrence West were stifled in a big way in this game. However, they are both talented backs and this shouldn’t influence your opinion of them too greatly considering the ability of the Bills’ defense.

It is finally time for Johnny Manziel. He’s one of the most polarizing players in the league and he showed flashes of brilliance after coming in during the fourth quarter. Who knows where it goes from here, but it’s undoubtedly going to be a show to watch no matter the ultimate outcome.
