Last week, the New York Giants suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Dallas Cowboys 31-28, but they weren't favored to win that game. Coming into Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Giants were a two-point favorite and many felt this was a sure win for the G-Men. However, after squandering a 21-point lead, they lost 25-24 in the final seconds. Here are the five takeaways for the Giants after their ninth defeat of the season.

Early in the game, when it seemed like the Giants had a sure victory, Rashad Jennings was playing extremely well. He rushed the ball 26 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, he caught three passes although he didn't gain much yardage. Regardless, Jennings was one of the few bright spots for the Giants in Week 13, and it's unfortunate that he suffered an ankle injury during the game to make his status questionable moving forward.

From Victor Cruz to Prince Amukamara and more, the Giants' woeful season has a lot to do with the numerous injuries they've suffered throughout the season. This isn't to say that they would be a playoff team, but they'd probably be better than their current 3-9 record. The injury curse continued today as offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz had to be carted off with a foot injury which allowed the Jaguars defense to apply game-changing pressure.

The man now famously known for the greatest catch ever had another impressive game as the Giants' top aerial target. He ended the game with seven receptions for 90 yards but zero touchdowns. While it was disappointing that he didn't score and it probably could have helped the Giants win, the fact still remains that Odell Beckham, Jr plans to finish this season strong. He is poised to easily be a Top 10 WR entering next season.

The absence of Rueben Randle during the first quarter was a peculiar one, and it was eventually reported that he was benched for the quarter. More details need to surface regarding his benching, but considering the emerging play of Preston Parker, this may be the final days of Randle in a Giants uniform. The former second-round pick has flashed signs of effectiveness at times, but he may become the odd man out very soon.

Larry Donnell has proven to be a revelation for the Giants this season as their new weapon at the TE position. However, Donnell had a crucial fumble late in the game that led to Jacksonville scoring a defensive TD to take the lead. He had a similar play against the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the season that was a critical game-changer leading to the Giants losing. If Donnell wants to be the next great TE, then he must learn to protect the ball.
