New Orleans Saints Would Be Smart To Draft A QB High In 2015 NFL Draft

The New Orleans Saints have struggled mightily this season, and while quarterback Drew Brees shouldn’t receive all of the blame, his poor play certainly hasn’t helped matters.

With age perhaps catching up to him, Brees has played poorly all season long, throwing a few game-changing interceptions. Word has it that the Saints are beginning to feel worried that Brees is starting to decline and will be looking to draft a quarterback early on in the 2015 draft. While not everyone will agree with that move, the fact is that the Saints would be smart to take a quarterback early on.

Although the 2015 class isn’t exactly flooded with quarterback talent, there are a few guys who would make sense in either the first or second round. Connor Cook out of Michigan State has the arm strength and intangibles to take over as a starting quarterback when the Saints do move on from Brees. If the Saints do decide to wait until the second round to address the position, someone like Brett Hundley is a guy who could sit and learn for a few years before taking over down the line.

With the way Brees has played this season, the Saints are making the right move by looking to take a quarterback early on in the draft. Nothing lasts forever, and in a league driven by production, Brees is running out of time.
