Coming into this Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams, the New York Giants were winners of two in a row. They had beaten two of the worst teams in the league, and while their offense looked better, they didn’t exactly have the toughest competition. This week they faced a defense that was able to hold Peyton Manning to seven points, and they dropped 37 on them, showing just how good this offense might be going into the 2015 season.

Both of these teams were already eliminated from the playoffs, so they had nothing to play for other than pride. But as could be seen by the brawl that took place at the end of the second quarter, both teams wanted to win this game badly regardless.

The Rams had not let up a touchdown in their previous three games before they welcomed the Giants into St. Louis, and all the Giants did was gain 514 total yards. Everything was clicking for the Giants on Sunday which has to give fans hope for next year.

Eli Manning was masterful all game, throwing for 391 yards and three touchdowns. His receivers were consistently getting open, especially Odell Beckham Jr., who once again put up huge numbers. The biggest surprise of the day though was Rueben Randle, who went over 100 yards for only the second time this season and looked as good as he ever has in a Giant uniform. I called for the Giants to try and trade Randle a couple of weeks ago, but if he plays like he did on Sunday consistently, he can be a solid No. 3 receiver.

The reason Randle will only have to be a No. 3 receiver next season is because the Giants are expecting Victor Cruz back at full strength. Having an explosive Cruz back along with superstar Beckham and a productive Randle makes for quite a potent receiving corps.

The biggest question mark for the offense this season was definitely the offensive line. The line had major early struggles but has really started to come along in recent weeks. Against a really tough Rams defensive front, Manning was only sacked once, and the line was able to open up holes for the run game.

Andre Williams rushed for over 100 yards and averaged over four yards per carry for the second time in the past three weeks. Williams has made big strides this season, but he will likely come into next season as the backup and change of pace back behind Rashad Jennings.

The offensive line may not look the same next year, but they have some promising pieces in Justin Pugh and Weston Richburg. The Giants will have to decide what to do about left tackle Will Beatty. Beatty hasn’t been great since signing a huge contract two seasons ago, but he’s coming off a game where he shut down one of the best pass rushers in the league in Robert Quinn.

In the first year under new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, the Giants have definitely had their struggles, but as we get later into the season you can see the offense making huge strides. By no means is this offense perfect or without holes heading into next season, but they have some really good players who have to get you excited as a fan of the Giants. If the Giants can fill a few holes and keep everyone healthy next year, this offense has the potential to be a very dangerous unit.
