5 Bold Predictions For Lions vs. Cowboys In NFC Wild Card Playoff

The Dallas Cowboys will host the Detroit Lions in the last of the four Wild Card games. Even though the Lions have won the past two meetings, the Cowboys are looking for redemption. Both teams are on opposite paths, as the Cowboys are arguably the hottest team in football and the Lions are still struggling to find themselves as a team. Regardless, this game will be a tightly-contested, must-watch ballgame.

Over the course of the 2014 season, Reggie Bush has fallen out of favor in Detroit and Joique Bell has emerged as the starting running back. Not only is Bell a tough runner, but he excels as a weapon out of the backfield for Matthew Stafford as well. To keep the red-hot Cowboys offense off the field, the Lions are going to feed Bell early and often. That being said, don't be surprised if he touches the football at least 20 times.

All season long, Brandon Carr has played absolutely horribly. However, the past two weeks have been his best performances of the year, and that is huge considering the playoffs are up next so Carr will need to continue to be at his best. Last season when the Cowboys played the Lions, Calvin Johnson lit Carr up to the tune of 14 receptions for 329 receiving yards and a touchdown. I'm banking on Carr having a much better showing this time.

The second-ranked rushing offense will go against the first-ranked rushing defense in this game. However, the Lions will be without Nick Fairley and the Cowboys are playing at the highest level of the season. Fortunately for the Lions, Ndamukong Suh won his appeal, even though he didn't deserve it. Despite that, Dallas will win this battle simply because they are playing at the higher level.

I fully believe that the Cowboys are going to blow out the Lions in this game. Coming off four straight victories in which they averaged 41 points per game, Dallas' offense is in a special groove right now and will put up a ton of points in this game. That being said, Tony Romo will be in for a productive day and change his "choker" image just a bit with a win.

As I said in the last slide, Dallas' offense is going to roll in this game. The Lions will be able to score in bundles as their offense has a ton of talent. But the fact of the matter is that the Cowboys will get more stops on defense, and that will be why the Cowboys win this one by a large margin on Sunday.
