The Washington Redskins are among the most talent-devoid teams in the NFL, and it’s clear that heading into the offseason, this is a team that needs to really have an excellent draft class to start winning again. There are holes throughout the roster, and plenty of weaknesses need to be improved upon if this team is going to contend any time soon. With that said, here is a too-early Redskins seven-round mock draft.

Round One: Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson

The Redskins will need to add another pass-rusher with Brian Orakpo likely done in Washington, and Vic Beasley fits the bill. Beasley is a high-effort, undersized speed rusher who has been a dominant force in the college game. Beasley needs some work in the running game, but as a situational pass-rusher, Beasley would fit perfectly in Washington right away.

Round Two: Tre' Jackson, OG, Florida State

With one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, the Redskins really struggled moving the offense this season, and it's clear a massive upgrade is needed on the line. Tre' Jackson isn't the can't-miss prospect he was thought to be, but he's still very capable, and a solid plug-and-play starter.

Round Three: Jordan Richards, S, Stanford

Philip Thomas has been a massive disappointment as a starting safety, and the Redskins need to improve the back end of their secondary. Jordan Richards is a decent athlete that plays very smart and puts himself in a position to make plays. He's not a star, but Richards is a solid starter with a little bit of upside.

Round Four: Ramik Wilson, ILB, Georgia

Washington has a pair of decent, but unspectacular players at the inside linebacker position in Perry Riley and Keenan Robinson, but adding Ramik Wilson to the mix would really shake things up. Wilson is a potential star at the next level, and he has the instincts and raw athleticism to be a star with some development.

Round Five: Cedric Reed, DE, Texas

Cedric Reed has the potential to be an absolute steal in the fifth round, however, he must prove he can overcome the inconsistency that plagued his college career. As a long-term starting defensive end prospect, Reed is a tremendous value in the fifth round and someone the Redskins should have an eye on.

Round Six: Jake Smith, C, Louisville

As I mentioned earlier, the Redskins need a major overhaul on the offensive line, and bringing in Jake Smith to replace Kory Lichtensteiger would be a huge addition. Smith is a tough, hard-working center who will get it done week in and week out as a starter. Smith isn't flashy, but he's more reliable than anyone the Redskins have now.

Round Seven: Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada

While it might seem strange for the Redskins to wait so long to draft a quarterback, make no mistake, the franchise is tied to Robert Griffin III for at least another year before they draft someone to take over his job. Cody Fajardo is a smart, athletically-limited quarterback who will never be the starting quarterback, but will be an excellent backup for the Redskins.
