The New York Jets are still diligently searching for new leadership to help steer the franchise into a better direction ahead of the 2015 NFL season. Out of all the candidates they have interviewed, Dan Quinn stands out as the best candidate.

Quinn was an integral part of creating the Legion of Boom with the Seattle Seahawks by instilling hard work, hard tackling and getting the best out of his players. He would be the absolute best candidate for the Jets since not only does he have a Super Bowl championship under his belt, but he’s a proven winner. If owner Woody Johnson wants to build a championship-contending team, he must surround himself with people who have gone to the big game and left victorious.

Since Quinn will be among the top head coaching candidates across the league, the Jets must make sure to do what they can to entice him. The Jets’ defense has plenty of talented athletes that just need the right push. He’s been pursued by plenty of teams over the last few years, but stuck with the Seahawks since the right deal hasn’t come along yet.

New York is a perfect situation for Quinn. He’ll be able to work alongside someone of his choice since the Jets need both a GM and head coach, and will be sure to let him know who they feel will be their next GM.

Patience is key since the Seahawks are still active in the NFL Playoffs, and the Jets can’t hire Quinn until their season is over. The team should be prepared to pursue Quinn immediately once he’s eligible since he brings exactly what the Jets need to the table. With his personality and strong defensive roots, he would be an instant difference-maker for the Jets.
