The San Francisco 49ers had a disappointing year that ended with the much-publicized departure of Jim Harbaugh. His exit means it will be a new era for the 49ers, which means this offseason is going to be very important for whoever takes over. A good draft is going to be crucial for them, and here is an early look at who they might be taking.

The 49ers have to get some playmakers at wide receiver in this draft. Kevin White is just that. He caught 109 balls for 1,447 yards in his senior season at West Virginia. White has good size and speed, and would give Colin Kaepernick a much-needed target on the outside. San Francisco might have to get lucky for him to fall to them at 15, so the team might have to trade up to get him.

Round 2: Arie Kounandjio, OG, Alabama

Mike Iupati is going to be a free agent this offseason, which means the 49ers might be looking for a guard in the draft. Alabama's Arie Kouandjio is one of the better guards in the draft and would be great value in the second round. He would be able to step into the starting lineup if the team decides to part ways with Iupati.

Between Justin Smith aging and Aldon Smith being unpredictable, the 49ers should look to grab a defensive lineman. Markus Golden should be available in the third round and is coming off of a 10-sack season for Missouri. He isn't a dominant physical presence, but he has a relentlessness about him that makes him hard to bet against.

I think the 49ers will go with another wide receiver in the middle rounds of the draft. Their biggest weakness on offense was that the opposition had zero fear of anyone beating them deep. Phillip Dorsett would help change that as he figures to be one of the faster wide receivers in the draft. The 49ers have to improve the weapons around Kaepernick if they want to properly evaluate him.

Round 5: Quandre Diggs, CB, Texas

It's never a bad idea to stockpile cornerbacks in today's NFL. San Francisco already has a good secondary, but it's not a bad idea to try and strengthen a strength. Quandre Diggs has a chance to be a solid player at the next level. He is a little undersized but has good ball skills. Diggs will likely be more of a slot corner in the pros.

Round 6: Aundrey Walker, OT, USC

Another good idea in the later rounds is to take gambles on guys who have all of the physical traits needed, but just haven't produced on the field. Aundrey Walker fits that category. He played some at guard and tackle in college, but never found his niche at USC. The 49ers could try and bring him in and see if they can't maximize his potential.

Round 7: Martrell Spaight, OLB, Arkansas

You better be able to play on special teams if you get picked in the seventh round. Martrell Spaight would have no problem succeeding in that role, and also has some pass rushing skills from the linebacker position.
