The Green Bay Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys in a playoff game at Lambeau Field for the first time since 1967. There is so much to talk about regarding the highly anticipated matchup due to the various angles the game will offer. In that regard, here are five bold predictions for the Packers vs. Cowboys in the divisional round.

DeMarco Murray is the best running back in the game while Eddie Lacy is fantastic in his own right. Green Bay’s run defense is dismal, which means Dallas’ game plan will be to run right at them. The Packers will utilize Lacy as well just as they did against the Lions in Week 17. Since the Cowboys will be focusing so much on stopping Aaron Rodgers, Lacy should run for over 100 yards. Murray is fully expected to do the same.

Just like the Patriots found out the hard way, Packers wide receiver Davante Adams will rise up and destroy the Cowboys’ secondary. Since Dallas’ biggest area of concern is their pass defense, they will overcompensate too much by trying to defend Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson, just as the Patriots did. That will leave room for Adams to dominate the receiving game. He hauled in six receptions for 121 yards against New England in Week 13.

Snow isn’t expected at legendary Lambeau Field, but it is definitely going to be ridiculously cold. The Frozen Tundra will earn the name as fans are already calling for the game to be called “Ice Bowl II” after the famous original Ice Bowl in the 1960s. Even though there will be a high of 23 degrees, the wind chill is expected to bring the temperature down to single digits at game time.

What do Rodgers, Tony Romo, Murray and Nelson have in common? All four are MVP candidates this season. It doesn’t matter if the Packers or Cowboys win because whichever team is standing at the end will only be doing so because of the play of their MVP candidates. It will come down to Rodgers and Romo with the help of Murray and Nelson if Green Bay or Dallas wants to advance.

This isn’t exactly a bold prediction because the Packers are favored by six points. However, the Cowboys are undefeated on the road this season and have the right kind of team to win in the cold weather. Still, I believe Rodgers and the rest of the Packers will be too much for the Cowboys to handle, which is why they will emerge victorious and earn a berth in the NFC Championship Game.
