Many free agent players could be logical answers for problems the Philadelphia Eagles have with their roster, but there are also a lot of players who just shouldn't be in that discussion. Here's a look at who those players are.

Outside of one or two players, the free agent quarterback market looks pretty slim. Christian Ponder might be seen as a second-tier player who might make for a serviceable backup, but I can’t emphasize this enough, the only difference between Ponder and Mark Sanchez is that Ponder is two years younger. Do. Not. Want. I’m hoping Jake Locker makes his way to the Eagles, or an excellent Plan B would be Colt McCoy.

Rahim Moore is a tempting player for the Eagles. Even though he’s already proven he can be reliable in the right system, I don’t think the Eagles will be that system. Moore is a player who can handle what he's told to handle, and that’s it. Things like instincts and reacting on the fly aren’t Moore’s strong suit, and I’m not convinced he’d be effective in this defense. I’d rather see a better coverage guy like Da’Norris Searcy here.

Wes Welker was once the premiere slot receiver in the NFL, as he is swift, agile and capable of shredding coverages apart. But concussions and age have caught up to him as of late, and at this point he’d be a huge signing in name alone. The last thing the Eagles need is another veteran contract on the books, and besides, the Eagles have enough depth with Jeremy Maclin, Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff.

2. CB Darrelle Revis

Even though the Eagles’ cornerback situation is brutal, and an All-Pro will be available, the Eagles would be wise to shy away from Darrelle Revis. No matter how much Revis is going to make in a new contract, come next year he’s going to want more. He’s a walking contract nightmare, and frankly, the distraction just isn’t worth it. Take that giant contract, split it up, and go get Byron Maxwell and Kareem Jackson instead.

Ndamukong Suh might be the most dominant, violent defensive lineman in the league not named J.J. Watt. In the hybrid scheme the Eagles run Suh would make an already strong defensive front elite. Here’s the catch: Suh is on track to get paid a monstrous amount like Watt, possibly even more so. The Eagles simply can’t afford the price tag -- it would cripple their ability to lock up their own emerging stars. Say no to Suh, just not to his face.
