Heading into the 2015 offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles don’t have much cap space to sign high-quality free agents. However, that could change very quickly if and when the team decides to release a few expensive players, which seemingly every NFL team does during the free agency period. Let’s assume the Eagles will have enough cap space to sign at least one solid free agent, and if that’s the case, the team should look to sign these players.

The 32-year-old strong safety will be entering his 11th season in the NFL next year, but the Eagles are in desperate need of a solid player at the position. Nate Allen has been the team’s starter in recent seasons, but he’s been very inconsistent. Antrel Rolle would be a major upgrade for Philadelphia and provide more veteran leadership.

With inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans coming off a season in which he tore his Achilles, the Eagles may look to sign another inside linebacker for insurance purposes. David Harris has been a beast for the New York Jets during his career and registered 124 tackles last season. He may prove to be too expensive, but the Eagles should push hard to sign him.

The Eagles are well aware of Jason Pierre-Paul’s talent, as he’s played with the division-rival Giants for his entire career. He’ll be entering his sixth season in the NFL next year, and would provide Philadelphia with a major boost along the defensive line, after he accumulated 12.5 sacks last season. Current Eagle Brandon Graham is set to become a free agent this offseason, and Pierre-Paul could be a strong replacement.

With outside linebacker Trent Cole being one of the top candidates to be released by Philadelphia due to his high salary, Jason Worilds could fill his role effectively. He’s been solid for the Pittsburgh Steelers during his five-year career and will likely be in the price range for the Eagles this offseason.

The biggest issue for the Eagles for the past several seasons has been the play of their cornerbacks. Bradley Fletcher will be a free agent this offseason, and he should be replaced after struggling all year. Tramon Williams would be a huge signing for Philadelphia and could bring more stability to the position. He will be a hot commodity, but needs to be on top of the free agent board for the Eagles.
