The Green Bay Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys in a playoff game at Lambeau Field for the first time since 1967. True fans of both franchises know that game to be the 1967 NFL Championship Game, also known as the Ice Bowl due to the incredibly cold temperatures. The 2015 game won’t be nearly as cold, but it definitely will be a factor in the final outcome of the game.

As of right now, the Packers are six point favorites over the Cowboys. That certainly makes sense considering Green Bay is playing at home, where they have not lost a game all season. Of course, Dallas has not lost a game on the road all season, which means something in the contest will have to give.

The real reason the Packers are favored is the Aaron Rodgers factor. The likely 2014 NFL MVP is about as dominant as a player can be at home. He completed 67.1 percent of his passes for 2,334 yards, 25 touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 133.2 passer rating in eight games at Lambeau Field in 2014. Even more impressive is that he has not thrown an interception at home since 2012. Quarterbacks who do not turn the ball over thrive no matter the conditions, which is why Rodgers should have continued success even with the Cowboys coming into town.

Along with that, Packers running back Eddie Lacy rushed for over 1,000 yards for the second consecutive season. He has truly given Green Bay a one-two punch on offense. That means Dallas cannot just focus on Rodgers because that will allow Lacy to run right over them. Even though Rodgers is the bigger threat, Lacy has the ability to take over games, which is exactly what he did to the Cowboys in 2013.

There are several reasons to believe Dallas will emerge victorious in the divisional round matchup, and their names are Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray. The balanced attack should do wonders against a Packers run defense that has struggled at times throughout the season. Both Romo and Murray posted career years. Anytime that happens, it typically means the team will go deep in the playoffs. If Murray can gash Green Bay on the ground, Romo should have success through the air.

Even with Romo, Murray and the Cowboys playing very well as of late, it still will not be good enough to go against the top-ranked scoring offense in the NFL. The Packers have absolutely destroyed opponents at Lambeau Field this season, and the Cowboys will be no exception.

Prediction: Packers 30, Cowboys 28
