While some teams are eagerly fighting towards the Super Bowl in the playoffs, for most of the NFL it’s dreaming season, the time when teams dream of all the studs they could sign in the offseason. After a 7-9 season, the Vikings have plenty of holes to fill. Here’s a look at five free agents they would love to sign.

The Vikings obviously need help along the offensive line, and while Mike Iupati has everyone drooling, the amount of money the Vikings would have to invest in him would prevent them from making any other big splashes. Franklin is a good backup option who has done a good job helping to protect Peyton Manning out in Denver.

Who knows what Adrian Peterson will be doing next year, but if he’s not returning, the Vikings need a running back badly. Ridley has been very productive in New England despite the fact that he seems to be continuously in the doghouse. Given a starting role in a run-based offense, Ridley has potential to break out. And coming off ACL surgery, the Vikings could get him for cheap.

The Greg Jennings experiment has not really worked out in Minnesota, so it’s time for the team to retool their receiving corps. Crabtree has all the tools to be a No. 1 receiver, and hopefully the change of scenery will help him live up to his former glory. Crabtree will be looking for a bit of money, but he could be worth it and may quickly become Teddy Bridgewater’s security blanket.

The Vikings were not great against the run this year, finishing 25th in the league. They have also needed an upgrade at middle linebacker for the past few years. Well, Spikes not only gives them a solid thumper in the middle of the field, but he also instantly bolsters their run defense.

How's that for a free agency splash? Not only do the Vikings get instantly better on defense, they also steal the slight troublemaker but amazingly good defensive tackle from their NFC North rivals. Sounds like a win-win to me. Suh, coupled with Griffin off the edge, would make a formidable pass rushing duo, and Suh’s ability against the run would instantly help the team.
