Free Agents the Oakland Raiders Should Not Sign in 2015

I wrote an article the other day about the Oakland Raiders and which free agents they should bring in over the offseason. The Raiders have a ton of money and that could be a good thing or a bad thing. They have the ability to bring in talent, but their management has made porous decisions in the past. Regardless, these five free agents should not be looked at by the Raiders.

People love C.J. Spiller and his ability to change games, however, I don't see him as a complete running back and a complete running back is what the Raiders need to take pressure off of Derek Carr. Spiller would cost a lot of money and he simply isn't worth it. Spiller never stays healthy and he lacks the ability to gain the tough yards.

Torrey Smith has had a decent career as a deep-ball receiver, but he really is just that. Smith is one of the league's best deep threats, but he isn't a possession receiver, which is something that is greatly needed in Oakland. Smith is a No. 2 receiver and the Raiders cannot afford to spend a lot of money on a career No. 2.

Doug Free is in the midst of another good season with the Dallas Cowboys and although he is one of the premier right tackles in the NFL, the Raiders need to invest their money in another tackle or simply somewhere else. Free is going to be 32 by the time the season starts next year and he's going to command a lot of money.

Anthony Spencer is another player who will be looking for a lot of money. He's a 4-3 edge rusher that shows a lot of ability against the run as well. However, Spencer can never stay healthy and that is why the Raiders should not give him long-term money. The Raiders need a pass-rusher, but Spencer is not the answer.

For awhile now, people have said that Ndamukong Suh will be a Raider in 2015. While that is very enticing considering Suh is at the top of his position and he fills a need in the defense, the fact of the matter is that Suh is a headache for a football team, and he is not a good guy to have in this locker room considering how young this team is. Another thing is that Suh is going to want to break the bank.
