It is safe to say the NFL had a rough year in 2014 as far as public relations are concerned. It also is known that the league is doing everything in its power to turn the page and make 2015 better in that regard. It appears that may not be possible if there is any truth to a reported “Gucci scam” that has the potential to rock the NFL.

According to Yahoo! Sports NFL Insider Rand Getlin, NFL players were encouraged to send nude photos of themselves to talent scouts in order to audition for a modeling job with Gucci. Not only did these players believe they had a shot at getting the job, but also they were promised the opportunity to have sexual encounters with Gucci models.

The National Football League Players Association has reportedly warned players to be incredibly careful when receiving emails or other forms of contact from alleged Gucci talent scouts as it is said to be some sort of scam. Essentially, any email coming from a Lake Smith or Ashley Brown should be instantly ignored, as these two names have been linked to the scam.

As of right now, there is no news on who the NFL players are or how many have been involved in the scam. In all honesty, the only way that news will break is if the scam artists unleash the photos on the Internet.

What is known is a scam artist is in possession of multiple revealing photos of more than one NFL player, which has to make NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and his public relations department incredibly nervous.
