It’s been some time since Chris Johnson was relevant in the NFL, and this past season with the New York Jets didn’t change that. He wasn’t the game-changer the Jets were hoping for, and his off-the-field decisions are apparently an issue now, too.

According to reports, Johnson was arrested on Friday night for openly carrying a gun.

There aren’t too many further details to the story, but it’s another example of Johnson’s continued decline. Many will remember him for his sophomore 2009 season during which he ran for 2,006 yards (and earned the nickname CJ2K), but over the last five seasons, he’s become a bit of a has-been. Now he’ll also be dealing with some off-the-field issues stemming from some not-so-bright decisions.

It might be time for Johnson to call it a career before he completely ruins his “legacy,” if that’s what you want to call it.
