The Buffalo Bills had their best season in 10 years in 2014. If they want to improve upon that, they need some help at quarterback. EJ Manuel may be the favorite to become the starter, but he needs some competition. Here are five quarterbacks the Bills could target in free agency.

Austin Davis is a restricted free agent so it will be more difficult to sign him, but he could be a good fit in Buffalo. Davis had a great start to his season in St. Louis, but turnovers started to get the best of him, and he was benched in favor of Shaun Hill. Davis is young at just 25 years old, and could still become a solid starter if he continues to improve.

With Rex Ryan being announced as the Bills' new head coach, Michael Vick makes a lot of sense as a free agent target. Vick had an up-and-down season in New York, but would be in a much better situation in Buffalo. He could also become a good mentor for EJ Manuel.

Shaun Hill had a solid season in St. Louis last year and would bring a Kyle Orton like calmness to the Bills' offense. Greg Roman is rumored to be the Bills' new offensive coordinator under Rex Ryan, and Hill would be a great fit for his offense. He isn't a guy who will go out and win you games on his own, but he has starting experience and won't make the major mistakes that often plague young QBs.

Brian Hoyer had an up-and-down season for Cleveland in 2014, but a lot of that can be attributed to the lack of talent on the Cleveland Browns' offense, and the fact he didn't have the complete backing of Cleveland's front office. He won't have the same distractions in Buffalo that he had in Cleveland with Johnny Manziel as his backup. In Buffalo, he will have better talent and an offense that suits his style of play.

Ryan Mallett gives Buffalo their best chance of finding a long-term starting QB in free agency. He has all the talent in the world and just needs a team to invest time in him to make him better. He is still young at 26 years old, and wouldn't need to be "The Man" on a team like Buffalo; they already have a great defense and solid running game. Plus, they have a guy in Sammy Watkins who can be a long-term, No. 1 receiver in the NFL.
