With the Denver Broncos losing in the NFL divisional round, talk has already begun regarding the future of Peyton Manning. The superstar quarterback says he doesn’t know what his future holds, which means he could have played his last NFL game. If that were the case, the Broncos must figure out what to do about the position. With a high-profile team, the only real option is to acquire a QB in a trade. Here are five the Broncos should go after.

None of the five options on this list is going to be comparable to having the greatest quarterback of all time under center. Still, what the five have in common is they could keep the Broncos competitive if given the right opportunity. Robert Griffin III’s time in Washington is all but over. That means the Redskins will most likely look for a trade. A change of scenery with the right quarterbacks coach could do wonders for him and Denver.

A sign and trade is something the Packers will look for with Matt Flynn in the offseason. Even though he doesn’t seem to do well outside of the comfort of Green Bay, Flynn has shown monster potential in his starts with the Packers. It would be taking a huge gamble to acquire Flynn in trade, but it also could be a perfect match. Flynn has the ability to play well in pressure games, which means he could be a solid bet for Denver.

Jay Cutler back with the Broncos is crazy talk, or is it? The divorce was brutal, but the people who led to the ugly separation are no longer in Denver. The reality is Cutler is not as bad as people make him out to seem. In fact, some of the blame has to fall on the multiple offensive coordinators and schemes he endured over a short span. With Denver’s protective offensive line and stellar weapons, Cutler could do some damage with the Broncos.

2. Colin Kaepernick

Word is the 49ers could be looking to get rid of Colin Kaepernick just as they did Jim Harbaugh. The odds are Kaepernick will remain in San Francisco for one more year. With that said, he’s a shell of what he used to be and needs to be implemented in an offense that runs his style of play. Not saying the Broncos will necessarily do that, but they could be willing to adapt as they did with Manning. Also, Super Bowl experience is always a plus.

Nick Foles is the least likely to be dealt. However, the fact that he didn’t play as well in 2014 and Mark Sanchez actually wasn’t bad in his place for the Eagles could mean a trade is looming. The good news it wouldn’t take Denver a first-round pick to get him. Even better, he has the arm and mobility that could make the Broncos’ weapons nearly as dangerous as to what they are with Manning. Even if unlikely, Foles would be a great fit.
