Well, the 2014 season has come and gone for the Browns who actually were amazingly competitive this season and are on the right track moving forward. With around $ 48 million in cap room, Cleveland has plenty of money to better their roster and make a real push for the AFC North crown in 2015. Here are five free agents who'd help them get there.

Brian Hoyer is a free agent, and with a first-round pick invested in Johnny Manziel and Hoyer not really taking the NFL by storm, my guess is the signal-caller is gone. However, the Browns do need someone to back up and mentor Johnny Football, and Shaun Hill can be that guy. He played well in St. Louis this past year and would come on a very cheap contract.

While wideout Michael Crabtree has a flashier name, Washington has been a solid wide receiver down in Tennessee and in fact averages more yards per catch than Crabtree with 15.3 against 12.5. At 6-foot-1, Washington can play outside but is a good enough route runner to run inside as well. With Josh Gordon’s future still up in the air, Washington could be a cheap veteran the Browns can bring in to help at WR.

The Cowboys have plenty of big name free agents to sign (looking at you Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray), meaning someone’s going to fall through the cracks. And that person could easily be right tackle Doug Free. Mitchell Schwartz was the worst player on the Browns' offensive line this past season, so replacing him with Free makes all of the sense.

It’s obvious the Browns want to find another corner behind Joe Haden, and they drafted Justin Gilbert in hopes that he might be that guy. It hasn’t panned out so far, so the Browns would be wise to try and sign a veteran to come in and aid the secondary while Gilbert continues to grow. Cromartie had a strong season with the Cardinals and definitely showed he still has something left in the tank.

Who wouldn’t want Suh? Yes he has some baggage, but he also has all the talent a defensive tackle could want. Rumors have flown around saying the Browns will try and get Suh if he hits the open market. Suh instantly upgrades the Browns' defensive line, which was one of the worst parts of their defense. Plus the AFC North is already super chippy, so Suh would fit right in.
