The Miami Dolphins don’t have a lot of money to spend in free agency unless they decide to make some cuts (which they’ll do). With those possible cuts being at the wide receiver and cornerback, general manager Dennis Hickey and head coach Joe Philbin will have some serious work to do.

Hartline isn’t playing up to his million contract and the Dolphins can free cap space up by releasing him. If they do decide to take this route, they’ll need to target a big-bodied receiver that can win jump balls down the field and in the red zone, two areas they performed horribly in. Britt can fill those needs if he can keep his ego in check.

4. Miami Will Let Charles Clay Test Market

Letting Clay walk isn’t in the best interest for Miami, but it could happen. Dion Sims played great in Clay’s absence when he was ailing a knee injury throughout the season, but Clay is a playmaker and a favorite target for quarterback Ryan Tannehill. If Clay doesn’t like what he’s being offered by other teams, he may come back to Miami cheaper than expected.

Moore likes being in Miami, but he turns 31 next August and his time to start in the league is running out. Tannehill is likely to get his fifth-year option picked up or get a long-term extension, so the likelihood of Moore getting his shot with the Dolphins is unlikely. Locker is a similar athlete to Tannehill so he’d fit in as a back-up in Miami.

2. Miami Will Sign Brandon Flowers To Play Opposite Brent Grimes

The aging and under-performing Cortland Finnegan is almost a guarantee to get cut to free up cap space. That means there will be an open spot on the other side of Grimes. Third-year pros Jamar Taylor and Will Davis will fight for that spot, but an established veteran like Flowers should be brought in to take over.

Miami’s offensive line has given up 102 sacks the past two season; no, that’s not a typo. Their biggest need is to address, specifically, the left guard spot. Orlando Franklin is going to be a free agent, but Hickey may choose to address the spot in the NFL draft. If he doesn’t, I only have two words for Tannehill: sorry bro.
