New England Patriots Super Bowl

Super Bowl Matchup: New England Patriots (12-4) vs. Seattle Seahawks (12-4)

TV Schedule: Sunday, Feb. 1, 6:30 p.m. ET, NBC

Stadium: U of Phoenix Stadium

Line: New England (-1.5)

The two best teams in the NFL will be meeting up in Super Bowl XLIX — it doesn’t get much better than that.

How did Seattle get here? Well, it got here by riding Marshawn Lynch on the ground, Russell Wilson making some great plays and the defense coming up big. The Seahawks managed to beat the Carolina Panthers in their first playoff matchup, and then knocked the Green Bay Packers off in thrilling come-from-behind fashion.

As usual, Lynch will have to come up big. Most importantly, though, the defense will have to find a way to stop Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and the rest of the Patriots’ offense.

New England made it this far by knocking off the always pesky Baltimore Ravens, and then dominated the Indianapolis Colts. If New England is able to run a balanced attack effectively against the Seahawks, it very well could be national champs once again. For that to happen, Brady is going to have to have plenty of time to throw, and LeGarrette Blount has to have another great outing. For the record, Blount rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns against the Colts in the AFC Championship.

In the end, Seattle may have the most feared D in the league, but it will not put up enough points to offset all of the scoring the Pats are going to do. Don’t forget that the Seahawks just snuck by the Packers last game while the Patriots won with ease.

I hope Brady likes rings because he is going to earn his fourth one in the upcoming Super Bowl.

PREDICTION: Patriots 27, Seahawks 20
