With the start of the 2015 offseason, the Minnesota Vikings have an opportunity to catch themselves up in the hunt for the NFC North. Too do that, they're going to have to make a few moves which could mean the end for these five players.

Norv Turner’s offense doesn’t use fullbacks, and Jerome Felton already wants to opt out of his deal. With a $ 2.45 million price tag, it seems a parting of ways is destined whether Vikings release him or not. I guess it just depends now on who beats who to the punch.

Coming over from Carolina, Munnerlyn brought with him expectations that he hasn’t delivered on. Underachieving and never living up to the contract he signed, another free agent signing would make Munnerlyn expendable. Cutting him would save the Vikings about $ 4.2 million.

Matt Kalil showed a great deal of promise his rookie year, but he has since continued to decline without any signs of stopping. Kalil just isn't mentally there in Minnesota, and it doesn’t seem like he’s got many supporters left. Minnesota may just take the hit now and move on from Kalil as soon as possible. Releasing the No. 1 player on this list would make this move much more palatable.

Releasing Jennings saves the team $ 5 million. Also Jennings could easily be replaced if the Vikings draft Teddy Bridgewater’s top receiver at Louisville, DeVante Parker, with their first-round pick. That chemistry between Bridgewater and Parker would immediately pay dividends and could also allow Turner to get more creative with Cordarrelle Patterson. Jennings could easily stick around with a restructure of his contract, though.

The media parade around Adrian Peterson’s legal situation became a giant distraction for the team. What AP can do on the field is superhuman, but the Vikings may decide it best to move on from it altogether rather than deal with it for another year. They would save $ 13 million with release, and a draft pick to pair with Jerick McKinnon could give the Vikings a respectable enough rushing attack.
