Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has one year remaining on his four-year contract and is sure to demand a big contract extension from the Seahawks this offseason. Seattle absolutely must pay quarterback Russell Wilson, so there may not be much money left for “Beast Mode” in the budget. Following Seattle’s 28-24 Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots, here are 5 teams Marshawn Lynch would rather play for than the Seattle Seahawks.

Playing for the Dallas Cowboys and “America’s Team” would be a dream come true for a lot of players. Should the Cowboys run out of money to sign 2014 NFL Offensive Player of the Year running back DeMarco Murray, the team would have a gaping hole at the running back position. The Cowboys figure to be one of the favorites to win the NFC in 2015, so Lynch could expect to win in Dallas right away.

By signing with the 49ers, Lynch would return to play across the bay from his hometown of Oakland. Under new head coach Jim Tomsula, San Francisco is as committed to running the ball as any team in the NFL, making the 49ers an attractive destination for any running back. If Lynch is upset with Seattle’s offer, signing with the Seahawks' biggest rival would be the best way to get revenge.

Lynch to the Patriots seems unlikely, but who wouldn’t want to play for the NFL’s most successful team over the past 15 years? The Patriots rarely have a big-name running back on their roster and with Lynch, New England would be heavy favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions in 2015. Brady and “Beast Mode” in the same backfield would strike fear into every opponent.

Lynch would get to return to his home state of California, while playing for a quality AFC team. Philip Rivers leads the way for the Chargers and San Diego is led by one of the top young offensive minds in football in head coach Mike McCoy. With the oft-injured Ryan Mathews set to hit free agency, the Chargers would gladly welcome “Beast Mode” to their backfield.

This is the obvious choice and the heavy favorite to land “Beast Mode” should he leave Seattle. Lynch is an Oakland native and was recently quoted saying, “Everything about Oakland is everything about me.”
