Deflategate Joke Unsurprisingly Doesn’t Go Well For Aaron Hernandez’s Lawyer

More than likely, making a joke in court is not the best idea in the world. The judge for the Aaron Hernandez murder trial would likely agree with that statement.

According to newyork.cbslocal.com, said judge “chastised” Hernandez’s lawyer for making a joke about Deflategate.

“James Sultan was questioning a state police trooper about tire pressure Thursday when he jokingly asked whether the trooper had ever received ‘training in football deflation devices.’”

Yeah, that is probably not an appropriate topic for a case like this. Sure, jokes help to lighten up every situation, but the lawyer of Hernandez doesn’t need to be making jokes. May we remind everyone that this is a murder trial, not something as simple as a speeding ticket case. This trial should not be taken lightly one bit.

In case people already forgot, the New England Patriots were accused of using deflated balls in the game before the Super Bowl. Sure, it is okay for the media, fans and players to make jokes about that situation, but court is not the time or place for something like that.

We are sure Hernandez’s lawyer knows that now since the judge did not think it was funny one bit.
