Kansas City Chiefs' 5 Potential Playoff Opponents in 2015

The Kansas City Chiefs are a team that will surprise a lot of people in 2015. I expect them to make the playoffs as a wildcard, but I'm just not sure they will have what it takes to advance past the first round with the caliber of talent that resides in the other AFC teams. Therefore I will leave my expected No. 1 and No. 2 seed teams out of this list -- the Ravens and Patriots. Here are some teams they may face in the wildcard round.

The AFC West is going to be a tough division this year. I could see the Chargers, Chiefs, and Broncos all making the playoffs. But the AFC North may have something to say about that. Depending on how quickly the Broncos adjust to their new coaching staff, it could very well be the Chargers and Chiefs coming out on top of the division and playing each other in the first round. Crazier things have happened.

The Steelers are always a tough team to beat, and have the potential of entering the playoffs again in 2015. While I foresee the Baltimore Ravens running away with the division this year, you can never count Pittsburgh out. However, if the Steelers do come away with the division title for the second straight year, I don't foresee them getting a first-round bye, meaning they could be taking on the Chiefs in the first game.

The Bengals also have a chance of winning the AFC North, after coming up just short in 2014. If my prediction is wrong, and the Ravens don't have the stellar year I foresee them having, the Bengals could come out on top. But like the Steelers, I don't believe they will get a first round bye. So, could it perhaps be the Chiefs vs. Bengals in the wildcard round?

I predict that the Colts will have no problem winning their division again in 2015. I foresee them grabbing the No. 3 or No. 4 seed and potentially playing the Chiefs first in the postseason. I also believe they will take care of business and end the Chiefs' season if that's the case.

1. Denver Broncos

With Peyton Manning planning to return for the 2015 season, the Broncos are capable of having another solid season. If they respond well to their new coaching staff I see no reason they won't come out on top of the AFC West again. If that's the case, I could see the Chiefs grabbing a wildcard spot and these teams dueling it out in the wildcard round.
