Buffalo Bills' 5 Potential Playoff Opponents in 2015

It seems as though the Buffalo Bills were finally making strides as a team last year with Doug Marrone as head coach, but injuries at inopportune times and inexperience in big games led to their downfall. They are hopeful that Rex Ryan can continue the positive momentum with his defensive expertise, but they are facing an uphill battle with such a tough schedule ahead of them. Here are the five potential playoff opponents they will face in 2015.

This one is the obvious choice as the Patriots have seemingly owned the AFC East ever since Jim Kelly and Dan Marino retired. No matter what coaches come in or what quarterbacks are drafted, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady seem to rally whoever they have around them to routinely make it into the playoffs. It will be tough for Buffalo to knock them off and take their place at the top.

Andy Dalton will continue to keep this team from reaching their full potential, but thankfully for them they have enough at the other positions to continue to carry them through. A.J. Green is a game changer at receiver and Jeremy Hill will become a star in this league soon. It helps that Buffalo plays them at home, but this will be a tough matchup as Marvin Lewis will look to fill in the holes that kept them from advancing last year.

I really could have just put Andrew Luck’s name under this slide and that would have been sufficient as this Colts team is drafting in the top 10 every year without him. But with rumors swirling around that they may go after Demarco Murray if he’s available, that could be the final piece this team needs to make it to the Super Bowl.

2. Houston Texans

Bill O’Brian was almost able to take this team to the playoffs with awful quarterback play all year. Even though it’s a weak year for quarterbacks in the draft this year, they could still go out and get Mark Sanchez or Brian Hoyer in free agency to help bring some stability at that position so they don’t waste another tremendous year by J.J. Watt. And if Jadeveon Clowney returns at some point, they really could be a force to reckon with.

They are in a tough division, but if they are able to sign Dez Bryant, sign or get a capable replacement for Demarco Murray and add a few pieces in the draft to their defense, this team will once again bring a high powered offense and an opportunistic defense to the field each week. What would really be fun is if the NFL gives us another Monday Night classic between these two.
