It appears Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden has found himself in the middle of more domestic issues. Unfortunately, it appears his encounter with ex-girlfriend Erica Palmer is equally, if not more, severe than what occurred in 2011.

While out with an unnamed female companion, the two were attacked by Palmer. Walden was successful in knocking his gun out of Palmer’s hand before she could use it. But, he suffered a knife wound in the process and his female companion broke her arm after Palmer struck her with a baseball bat.

A report by the Braselton Police states Palmer hit the female companion with the bat and ran away after the gun was wrestled away from her. As Walden attempted to take the woman to the hospital, Palmer resurfaced to use a knife on him, which cut him in the arm. The Braselton Police were able to find her at a hotel, where she was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault, family violence aggravated assault, first-degree burglary and theft by taking.

On November 25, 2011, Walden was arrested for allegedly getting into a physical altercation with Palmer, who was sent to the hospital as a result of his actions. Even though the police held him on felony charges, the charges were later dropped. Walden was not even suspended by the NFL for his actions. Of course, that would be a different story if the incident occurred in 2014.

The most horrific part about Walden and Palmer’s domestic issues is they have two children together. Regrettably, the kids have to be forced to watch their parents go through multiple bad incidents, which are then talked about extensively in the media due to Walden’s profession of being a NFL player.

In 96 career games with four different teams, Walden has 160 tackles, 18 sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. In Week 17 of the 2010 NFL season, Walden was awarded the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his breakout performance against the Chicago Bears that helped the Green Bay Packers clinch a playoff berth. Walden then recorded nine tackles and a forced fumble as the Packers stormed through the postseason on their way to a win in Super Bowl XLV.
